Hello to you all!
Well, what fun Landers and I had deciding the results. It's lucky that we were only talking on the phone - had it been in person, there would have been skin and hair flying - "no, Landers! We're not placing you first, second and third!"
But we finally managed to compromise. We think it's a good one. It was great to have someone helping out, it really took the pressure off and made the whole thing even more fun for me. ![]()
Third: anjspencer with There is snow God.
Well, what can we say about this guy that hasn't been said a million times already? His brain just works in a different and better way than most people's. So creative, so original, we want more.
Second: Old-Nick with rip off. in more ways than one.
This one, for me, captured modern life. There aren't many people who don't have this simmering frustration just below the surface, and we all know the feeling of being inches away from snapping. To depict it so hilariously is quite an achievement.

We both loved this one, but we don't know why.
Maybe because it's a window into someone's soul, the strength of the writing depicting the intense vulnerability of our main character. She's fighting a battle against herself, during which the reader is juggled expertly between sympathy and revulsion, both recognising familiar scenarios and wanting to distance themselves from others.
Brilliant, well done Row!
